I’m a sucker for a redhead. In truth, I’ve tried dying my hair red more than a few times, resulting in a lackluster color not lasting beyond two weeks. No matter. I’ll continue living vicariously through those blessed with vibrant tresses and jump at the chance to photograph anyone with them. Olivia, our model, is one of those chosen people. Her sweet personality, smile, and coppery hue instantly drew me.
In the “Wildest Dreams” video, giraffes roam the African grasslands while Miss Swift, wearing a jet-black wig and extravagant yellow gown, sings, flying a strip of golden silk into the wind. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, our Taylor shoots are inspirations of her videos, not exact copies of them.
But without Africa, the giraffes, the black hair, the handsome pilot, and the movie set, how can we make our photoshoot identifiable as “Wildest Dreams?” The plane! The dress we could come by. Etsy sells multiple versions of “flying” dresses, which I purchased to give us that wow factor. But the plane? That’s asking a lot.
To my surprise, the plane came “swiftly” before the dress. Olivia’s mom called up a guy at the local airport, who agreed to loan his restored vintage aircraft for photos. There are angels on Earth. And the rest is history!
