Trying to recreate Taylor Swift’s videos is very ambitious. We don’t have an endless budget, a costume department, elaborate sets, or a private jet to fly us to any location. The list goes on. As I mentioned in other posts, my plan wasn’t to copy every frame from the videos, but instead create inspirational photoshoots of the videos. Though, what we DO have are dedicated people, creativity, and friends with connections when you need them! When Xio, the daughter of a bestie, said she collects knives and swords, including her set of Katanas, I knew she’d be perfect for “Bad Blood!”
If you’re a Swiftie, you may already be familiar with the video. If not, imagine Miss Swift teaming up with a girl gang of A-list celebrities, wreaking havoc while taking down villains like skilled assassins. I mean, we could have done seventeen photoshoots from this video alone there was so much material to work with. But I decided to focus on the beginning of the video, the office scene.
Thankfully, Matt, a fellow customer, friend, and churchgoer, answered my desperate plea for a location on Facebook. Through him, we had full access to an office building with many cool vignettes. The only problem is we’re not located in the middle of a city. Nope—good old central PA with Penn State University the Mecca of our area. This is where Joel’s amazing Photoshop skills came in handy. Newly working with the latest AI enhancements, he created everything I envisioned for this photoshoot but thought we’d never achieve: the night cityscapes, a fire explosion, and shattered glass.
If you’re curious to see the results, check out the photos and tell us what you think! But before you scroll, please take a moment to appreciate everyone involved!
